The expression sometimes translated as ‘priest magic’ has nothing to do with Christian faith. It is a misleading idea used to manipulate people through fear.
The Bible clearly rejects fortune-telling, sorcery, charms, mediums and attempts to call spirits. The task of God’s servants is not to practise magic, but to call people to God’s truth and freedom.
Prayer instead of fear
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. — James 5:13
Believers do not live by fear or superstition. They pray in the name of Jesus Christ. The church stands with those who suffer, prays for them and trusts God’s healing grace.
True freedom
The freedom Christ gives is not found in secret practices sold for money, but in peace with God and knowledge of the truth. Anyone living in fear may contact the church for prayer and support.
