What We Believe

Our confession

We believe in one God, the almighty Father and Creator of heaven and earth, and in his only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ took on flesh through the Holy Spirit, died, was buried, rose on the third day, ascended to heaven and will come again.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the universal church, the fellowship of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead and eternal life.

The Bible and God

We believe the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are the trustworthy authority for faith and life.

We believe the one God created and sustains the universe and has revealed himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is loving, gracious, powerful and just.

Humanity, Christ and salvation

We believe people were created in God’s image to live in loving relationship with him, but sin separated humanity from God.

We believe Jesus Christ is the promised Saviour and eternal Word of God, who died for our sins and rose on the third day.

We believe salvation is not earned by good works but received through faith as God’s gift of grace in Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit and the church

We believe the Holy Spirit is with the church, leads believers into truth, transforms them and empowers them for service.

We believe the church is not simply a building, but the body of Christ formed by those who trust in Jesus. Christ is the head of the church.
